Salad Shy

  What I eat now
I don't "treat" myself with bad food any more. I have altered my diet so I can live with it long-term. I eat when I am hungry and I snack still but the key it this. Eat LESS, exercise MORE. My diet (before and after, i.e. what I have subsituted) is roughly like this:

Before - After
Cheerios - porridge oats
Coffee/Tea - Herbal tea
Cheese on Toast - low fat soup and wholemeal bread
Processed junk - oven baked vegetables small amount of meat.
Peanuts Crisps - natural popcorn and fruit.

That's about it. The thing is I like all of the things I am now eating, I am addicted to getting healthy and I believe that is the point.

It is not losing weight it is living longer.

  ENERGY
OK - I have started jogging to the swimming pool doing 20 laps and jogging home. It is getting easier each time I do it and I find I now have SO MUCH ENERGY during the day. Also since I have started exercising I find I don't get as stressed as I used to. I will keep it up, looking forward to my monthly "weigh-in" so I can find out if it is paying off :)

  Pool of the Living Dead
So, I have joined my local swimming pool as a full member. This means I can feel especially guilty for not going swimming and worry about wasting money on something I don't use. But seriously, I am making a concerted effort to go swimming in the early morning or early evening. I admit that going early in the morning is best for me, but the worst thing about it is that that is the time when all of the old-age pensioners go for a quick float. It is seriously a disturbing sight. I am not at all ageist, I just get infuriated scratched, and run into. To be perfectly honest it is putting me off going swimming. But I have to keep it up, it is the only exercise I am currently getting and I do quite enjoy it. when banks of elderly swimmers, moving at 0.5 miles an hour, are outflanking me from every angle. It is bloody infuriating. I spent my entire time avoiding being kicked, Everybody enjoys swimming and don't they?

  Bad Start to Proceedings
I am going to weigh myself once a month - good job too. I am ill and a bit depressed due to the stress of my work, so I ate a few snack things tonight. Nothing major, couple of mini rolls and some fruit. Doesnt sound like much, but it isn't a good start.

I usually do an early morning swim, but not tomorrow as planned - reason - I am watching Godfather II - WHAT :) IT IS A GOOD MOVIE! OK! I know - bad start.

I guess I have the rest of the month to make up.
